There are the various ways that customers can pay for things at your venue. They can be Cash, Bank Transfer (BACS), Manual Cards (Chip&Pin PDQ Machine), or via an online Payment Gateway.
Alpha Flow is fully integrated with Stripe (an online payment gateway). You will need to set up an account with Stripe first, before connecting Stripe with Alpha Flow.
To create a Payment method or edit an existing method, head to Venue Settings on the left, click your Venue and then click the Payment Methods header.
Click the name of the method to edit it or click Add payment method to create a new one. Name this method and then consider a short, preferably single word text to be used as the POS button. Give the payment a public name that the customer would understand for this type of payment method. This is shown on Bill Summaries for Web Bookings. You can specify if this payment method should open the cash drawer by ticking the respective box. You can also chose to only show this payment method to pay for event bookings, meaning that it won't be shown on the Point of Sale screen. Chose the Payment Method type as described above. For some online gateways you may need to save and then re-edit to complete the process. You can chose which payment methods are acceptable to give refunds on and limit the refund amount to the total payment amount for this method i.e. to not put more onto a card than was spent. If the method is a payment gateway for online, tick the Enable for web payment tick box. Do not tick this box for any other payment method. For Web Payment methods you can provide some test that will be shown on the payment button. You can also create a text input with your method and whether it is required. i.e. recording the last four digits of a credit/debit card to cross reference with till receipts or a PDQ Card Machine authorisation code. Do not use this for Online Payment methods. |
