As well as offering alternatives to activities that are unavailable, you can also upsell an additional activity to the one the customer has chosen i.e. upselling a 30 minute practice session before a Grand Prix event. When upselling a second activity, both the participants quantities and the online availability rules must match the criteria of the original activity or the activity will not be offered.
Adding the Upsell to the original Activity Format
Go to the Activity the customer would be booking that you want to offer the new activity on. Find the Additional / alternative activities heading and click the "Add additional / alternative activities" link.
The select the activity to upsell from the dropdown and then tick the Offer as upsell tick box. You can optionally override the upselling activities' original website description to make the wording more intone with the customer's originally selected activity. Then set the minimum and maximum time before and/or after the original activity to schedule the new activity.
If some of the customer categories on the alternative activity do not match the categories on the original activity you will need to select the customer category(s) to use when checking availability.
Note: When upselling a second activity, both the participants quantities and the online availability rules must match the criteria of the original activity or the activity will not be offered.
Click the Save button to save your selection(s) and return to the Activity Format configuration. Make sure you also save the Activity Format as well.
On the Upselling page during an online booking, a message will appear above the activity to make it clear that this is an additional activity. This message must be configured in Venue Settings > [Venue Name] > Website Settings > [Website Name] > Online booking
