End of Day Payments Report
To show how much money you have taken and by what method on the selected date(s) you can create a payments report with just two data columns. You can then filter by the payment date to help reconcile any payments you have taken at a venue with what you have recorded on the system.
STEP 1: Head to reports and click the New Report button in the top right. Select Payments report and then give it an appropriate name and description.
STEP 2: Create two columns and select the Payment Method and Amount as the data sets from the dropdown. For Payment Method make sure you tick Summarise (B) to count all payments of the same method together. When the report is generated this will create a third column that will count each individual transaction. You can then set the heading for this column above the data selection (A).
STEP 3: For the filters, select a venue (if applicable) and the choose which date you would like to filter the results by. Typically banking institutions will show the time in UTC, which is what we have chosen in this example, however you can choose to show the transactions in local time if preferred.
STEP 4: Next make sure that the Paid dropdown is filtered to YES (C). This will ensure that only paid transactions will show and pending/failed ones will be filtered out.
STEP 5: You can then optional set any other filters, like whether to include voids and who the payment was taken by. Set the report permissions and then Save your report.
You now have report to show you the amount and number of transactions of each payment method on the system, filtered by a specified date.
