Create a person manually

Modified on Wed, 18 Jan, 2023 at 10:09 PM

To add a new competitor, click on People (A) in the Manage Menu on the left.  This will take you to a screen that shows all the competitors who have currently been set up, either by an admin or via an on-line entry.

Usually, when adding a new competitor you should first do a search for them by typing the first few letters of their name into the search box (B) to make sure they aren’t already in the system. For example if you wanted to see if Will Tew was already on the system, you’d type in something like “Wi T” and the system is intelligent enough to return you a list of results which match you query.

If the person you are looking for is not on the system, then click on the new person (C) button, and enter the competitor details. If the competitor has already got an Alpha, please input the email address they have registered with Alpha.

Once all details have been entered, click Create Customer. This will then save the profile to the database.

You will then be shown the profile invitation screen. This will send an email to the competitor to finish of creating their profile. If the competitor has already got an Alpha account with the registered email this will speed up the registration process by using their previous information. However this can be changed at the time of registration. Click Send Invite to send the email.

Once they have completed their registration you will see that they have accepted the General Terms and Conditions of your club. If they haven't the Privacy Choices will state "not yet given". If the email also has not been used to log in yet, it will have a badge next to it that says "CAN EDIT EMAIL". This means you will be able to edit the email, if for example there was a typo when the profile was originally created. You can then click the "Re-send Invite" button to send the registration invitation again.
