The following pages explain how to import an Event into the Alpha Timing application remotely via a web browser. To find out how to set this up read the Accessing the Timing Remotely page. If you operate the timing directly by the Alpha Timing application there is a separate guide for this.
Once the drivers have registered the next thing to do is to configure the event for timing. Note: this can be done before all drivers have been registered – any additional drivers will automatically be sent to the timing when they register. To do this you need to go to the timing reception screen web page: http://[timing-pc]:8081/reception
Note: you need to replace [timing-pc] with the name or IP address of your timing computer.
The Reception screen shows a list of events for the day on the left. Clicking on an event will import it into the Timing or if the event does not have a format linked, will show the list of templates to choose from.
Click on the format template to use for that event.
You may then be shown the parameters for the template, i.e. which championship to use (if applicable).
Once happy, click create. You will then return to the main event screen.
The left-hand part of the panel shows the sessions for this event along with a button to see the competitors. The right-hand part shows information relevant to the selected button on the left.
In this case Competitors is selected, and you can see a list of competitors on the right. If the event has been configured for driver groups, you will see the group letter next to the drivers. This can be edited by clicking on the driver’s name.
Team Events
When setting up an Endurance Race, you can adjust the number of teams that will be created by editing the number of competitors, so if you want 6 teams you change number of competitors to 6.
