Tyres on the Scrutineering Card versus Adding by Scanning

Modified on Tue, 21 Mar, 2023 at 11:53 AM

There are two options for adding a competitors tyres and other equipment to the Online Alpha Database.

Option 1: the competitor enters their barcodes into their virtual garage in the Alpha Entry system as part of the scrutineering process. This is then synced to the online database and then downloaded onto the Scanning laptop. The equipment is then scanned in parc ferme to confirm that the equipment used match what was entered at scrutineering. This is less time consuming for the scrutineers but does require the competitor to accurately input their equipment details during scrutineering. Read more about competitors completing their scrutineering card in the scrutineering article for the Club Management System.

Option 2: only competitor names / numbers are synced to the tyre system, and equipment is scanned before they go out on track to input and register their details against their profile on the Scanning laptop, and then again after they've been on track to verify they're the same ones. This method ensures the information is more accurate but is more time consuming for the scrutineers.
