Adjusting a Competitor's results

Modified on Wed, 1 May at 3:39 PM

You can adjust a competitors passings when the session is running by double clicking their name. This brings up the following panel

This panel has various options, including applying a lap adjustment, un-assigning an incorrectly assigned transponder and ignoring the competitor’s best laptime.

The bottom part of this panel shows all of the competitor’s laps, with options to change the lap status, and to split long laps, which can be useful it a transponder misses a lap either due to the driver driving wide and missing the loop, or due to an intermittently functioning transponder.

Once a race is finished, this panel will no longer be accessible. Instead it will first give you the option to Remove them from the session or Unassign a transponder.

It will then give you the option to select the from:
  • Apply adjustment
  • Apply Penalty
  • Exclude form meeting
  • View Laps

Applying Adjustment to a competitors results

You may need to apply some adjustment to a competitors results in the event of equipment failure or an adjustment that is not the result of a penalty.

To do this, double click a competitors name and click Apply Adjustment. When setting an adjustment, set the value to what the result should be, not the value of what needs to be added i.e. if the system has record 6 laps for the competitor, but they did 8 laps, set the value to 8.

If you have made a mistake with any adjustments, you can remove any adjustments made by clicking "Reset Adjustments".

Applying Penalties and Exclusions

You can also apply penalties and exclusions to competitors from here. They work exactly the same way as apply penalties in the Results view. More information can be found in the Apply Penalties article

Lap adjustments

You can also apply adjustments to individual passings that were recorded. From the drop down these laps can be set as:

  • Not Set
  • Warm up
  • Race
  • Slow Down
  • Ignored

There may also be some system set statuses that include

  • Competitor Ignored
  • Red Flag Roll back
  • Red Flag Formation
  • Auto Ignored

You can also split a lap into multiple laps if a transponder is failing or intermittent. Click the split lap icon (circled) to split a lap in to 2 or more laps. The Timing will also show the average lap time for these laps so you can assess whether the lap should be split.

Note: A split lap cannot be merged back together. If a lap is split incorrectly, the original lap time should be adjusted and the new lap time ignored.
