Using the Timing app as a Results PC

The Alpha Timing app can also be used as a Results PC, which allows a second timekeeper to issue penalties and results amendments without having to use the Main Timing PC. It can also be setup so that both PCs have full access to control the timing. 

In the app's General Settings, in the Connection options dropdown, you have the option of:

• always run timing on the PC, or
• allow me to select the timing PC 

If you want to be able to control the timing from either computer, tick the “Full control when remote” box.

If set to allow me to select the timing PC, The next time you load the Timing system on the PC you will see the following options:

Clicking the blue box with the name and IP address of the timing PC will connect the second PC to the timing PC. You will then be able to re-issue results or apply penalties without disturbing the Timekeeper.

If you don't see a box for the timing PC, check the Timing PC is on and running the timing application, check that both computers are on the same network and that the network is set to private.
