When creating an event, if it is flagged as a Championship Round and a Round number set, it can be associated with a championship table and the sessions can score Championship points. See this article on Championship tables and this article on creating Point Scheme for how to create them.
Once you have created the event, make sure any championship point scoring classes are associated with a championship.
If not click the pencil icon next to it to edit and select the required champ table.
With a champ table linked to the class, head to the championship point scoring sessions, Tasks > Edit Session and ensure that there is a point scheme and a round number set:
