Repechages can be used to link sessions results together. A typical example would be an A and B Final that is used to split large grids of competitors into two parts. The A Final is the highest scoring session and typically the feature race, so will normally include the highest proportion of qualifying competitors.
For example, in an event where there are 60 competitors, but the maximum grid size for a race is 34 competitors, a repechage can be used to guarantee entry into the final while also giving other competitors a second chance to qualify.
The rules for this repechage are based on points from the previous sessions are:
- The top 30 points scoring competitors automatically qualify for the A Final
- The lowest 30 point scoring competitors (the rest of the field) will race in a B Final.
- The top 4 placed competitors after the completion of the B Final, will progress into the last 4 places of the A Final grid

Setting a Repecharge in the Grid Options
The settings needed to replicate the above are shown below with the grid options of these two sessions.
The Grid Options for the B Final in this example have the Grid type as Points with the selected sessions to count. Make sure that it is set to "All competitors Qualify" (A).
For the A Final set the Grid type as Points and the sessions to match the same conditions as the B Final, including the tiebreak. This time make sure "Select qualifying competitors" (B) is selected and
set the Auto qualifiers (C) to the number of competitors who automatically qualify for the A final i.e. not racing in the B Final.
Set the Repercharge slider to the ON position (D) and set how many competitors from the repechaged session can be promoted to this A Final i.e. 4, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed competitors in the B final.
You can repechage multiple sessions i.e. to include a C final that is repechaged by the B Final and you can use any of the grid options including laptimes and merges. For example if you want to have Heats or Races where the grids are based on the result of qualifying, you can use best laptimes to rank by times, or create a merge to rank competitors in your preferred way.
You do not need to promote any competitors from the B Final to the A Final. If you simply want to make the grid calculation rank across two or more sessions, set the Repercharge slider to the ON position and set the number of competitors to be promoted to zero.
