To create a new Class or Kart Type in the Timing application, head to the Settings module (Gear Icon) and click the Classes/Kart Type Tab. Click on a class to edit it or click the +New Class button at the top of the class list to create a new one.
Give your kart class or type a unique code. This code must match the booking system in use with the Timing and be no more than 5 characters in length. For Club Karting this is configured in the Classes Setup and for Corporate Rental Karting this is set as the Timing Code in your Customer Categories.
Give your kart class or type a name and set the default colours for the number plates, which will also be used in the live timing. If the class has novices (owner driver only) or sub classes you can also set the colour of novice plates.
For owner driver kart classes there are then several options you can choose for the class:
- Allow sub class records - this allows any sub class to be included in the fastest laps
- Championship Class - this means you can create a Championship table for the class
- Allow Personal Transponders - this means you can add personal transponders to the class
- MSA Class - this means it is Motorsport UK class
- Owner Driver - this disables some of the corporate kart features and includes owner driver information
You can then also choose the accuracy of the timing for this class from 0.001, 0.01 and 0.1 seconds and which penalty scheme applies to this class.
